Wine Tastingin Ibiza
Wine is one of life’s great pleasures and in Ibiza, there are rolling fields of red-hued land dedicated purely to its production – this island likes to revel in the good times, after all, and as we know, wine is one of the primary facilitators of that so it makes sense that the pair go together like warm bread and cheese. Viticulture was initially brought to Ibiza by the Phoenicians, and today there are a handful of wineries on the island, each benefiting from the unique set of climatic conditions that’s bestowed upon an island in the middle of the Mediterranean.
Rich, terracotta-coloured clay is topped by a chalky surface, and when combined with a distinctly subtropical climate, it creates wine-making heaven. It’s possible to get up close and personal with the vines on a specially guided tour, which often including tapas, a lesson or two about winemaking, and a visit to the winery restaurant and shop. But let’s be honest, you’re mostly here for the wine tasting and no one can blame you for that.
