The main advantages of this type of property include seclusion, privacy, a home full of character, as well as for the most part great views and plenty of outdoor space.

Is it possible to renovate?

Remember that it is very likely you will have to carry out conservation work on your finca at some point, unless you buy a finca that has already been renovated… Many of these traditional Ibizan farmhouses are hundreds of years old, meaning they have thick walls, small windows, and modestly sized kitchens and bathrooms. One disadvantage of this type of property is that a renovation project is a time-consuming process, even if you only want to make minor renovations. You may also only be granted limited planning permission in order to ensure the cultural preservation of the finca. But all these potential complications will eventually lead to you owning the house of your dreams!

What does the maintenance of a finca involve?

Remember that fincas need special care and constant maintenance; one disadvantage is the cleaning and maintenance costs associated with keeping your finca in good condition.
