Properties with a tourist license -What you need to know
Although Ibiza is a very popular destination, if you want to buy a property to let on the island, you need to make sure that the property comes with a tourist license. In the past, it was quite easy to rent out your property to tourists, you simply listed the property on the internet and started taking bookings. However, things have now changed and the market has now been regulated.
What type of properties can have a tourist license?
All properties intending to rent to holidaymakers must have a license but be careful as only free-standing homes are permitted to apply. Renting out flats in multi-family buildings is not permitted.
There is a maximum of properties with a tourist license that you can own.
The maximum number of properties that are owned by one person, a group of owners, or holding company that can be legally rented out is 3 properties or less.
