Fincas for saleon Ibiza

There is something eternally appealing about the Balearic lifestyle. Perhaps it’s the sheer number of some of the world’s best beaches on your doorstep in Spain or the understated hint of luxury that greets you at the door of most beach clubs and restaurants, or maybe it’s the incredible sea views and sunsets mixed with those endless balmy days and hot nights. It’s hard to put your finger on the exact recipe that sets the Balearics apart from everywhere else in the world but what we do know is that Ibiza embodies it all, making it one of the most sought after holiday and relocation destinations on the planet.

Many people come to Ibiza, Spain on holiday and after a sun-drenched week in paradise subsequently decide to uproot their lives at home and move to the island permanently to live in a luxury villa or finca. And who can blame them? The promise of 300 days of sunshine every year alongside boundless blue skies, world class restaurants, bars, shops and clubs, and a rolling green landscape ripe for exploration is powerful ammunition for every imagination. Small wonder that Ibiza devotees decide to move jobs, kids and lives to Ibiza, and go on to love every single Balearic minute of it.

Where to find a finca on Ibiza

Once you’re au fait with the sale and rental processes in Ibiza, the next step is to find an island location that ticks all your personal boxes – from important daily considerations like proximity to schools, shops and amenities, to more tailored personal preferences like whether you would like a private pool, sea views and luxury furnishings. First and foremost, it’s essential to pick the destination that’s right for you. So if you’re new to Ibiza, here’s a brief rundown of some potential options.

Ibiza Town (Eivissa) – the island’s capital, bursting with first class restaurants, bars, shops and Ibicencan charm, and home to Dalt Vila, the stunning Medieval fortress that’s a Unesco World Heritage Site. Popular areas including Marina Botafoch and Talamanca are nearby, and you can catch the ferry to Formentera from here, which is just a short 30-minute journey away.

Santa Eulalia (Santa Eularia or Santa Eulalia del Rio) – just north of Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia is seaside town and foodie hotspot boasting some of the best restaurants on the island. A favourite, laid-back holiday spot for lots of European holidaymakers. Cala Llonga, Cala Llenya and Cala Nova are some of the most beautiful and easily accessible beaches.

San José (Sant Josep) – a charming town in the west of Ibiza, San José is home to lots of locals and an excellent craft market at weekends. Es Cubells, Cala Vadella, Cala Jondal, Cala Tarida and Sa Talaia, Ibiza’s highest point, are nearby.

Santa Gertrudis (Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera) – located in the heart of Ibiza, this village with a busy main square is home to cosmopolitan ex-pats who can’t get enough of its world class restaurants and shops. Great schools nearby too, including Morna.

San Antonio (Sant Antoni de Portmany) – a busy town on Ibiza’s west coat, San Antonio is famed for unbeatable sunsets and a lively tourist nighttime scene. It’s also a great sport for getting to know some beautiful nearby beaches, including Cala Gracio and Cala Salada.

San Lorenzo – a tiny village in the north of Ibiza, San Lorenzo is baked in Balearic countryside charm. Find a villa or finca here and live in total peace and tranquility. The Ibizan dream!

Roca Llisa – a new residential development not far from Santa Eulalia, there are villas, new-style fincas and apartments in abundance here.

San Rafael – another locals’ town not far from Ibiza’s west coast, there’s an excellent selection of restaurants here and beautiful countryside.

San Carlos – a quaint village in Ibiza’s north, this tiny municipality has a handful of shops and restaurants and is bursting with Ibicenco history and appeal.

San Juan (San Juan de Labritja) – this northern Ibiza town spills out around one main road, and maintains bundles of old school Balearic charm. Surrounded by country houses, fincas and villas, it’s a great spot for getting truly off grid. Use it as a base for exploring beaches including Portinatx and Benirras.

Traditional finca or modern villa?

When it comes to the variety of Balearic properties for sale, you are spoilt for choice. Modern, high tech villas are of course extremely popular, as are country houses and apartments with pools. Properties with lots of bedrooms for guests and acres of space are also highly sought after, but time and time again we find ourselves on the hunt for traditional fincas up for sale.

Buyers and rents and holiday guests simply can’t get enough of the classic whitewashed walls, simple silhouette and scaled back beauty of Ibiza fincas. The occasionally come up for sale, but naturally, there are only so many available, so to ensure you don’t miss out on the finca of your dreams, get in touch now so we can begin the search on your behalf!
