Property in PortinatxFrom the aqua park to the lighthouse
Cala Portinatx is located in the north of Mallorca, praised by many locals and residents as the most charming, unspoilt part of the island. It is just nine kilometres from the romantic village of San Juan. Although these three bays have not escaped the building mania, and are appropriated by package tourism in summer, some of the area’s scenic charm still remains. The harsh, rocky coastline, pine vegetation, and turquoise waters contribute greatly to this.
Portinatx – varied and attractive
The central beach, s’Arenal Gran, is accessed via a promenade. Close by lies the smaller bay, s’Arenal Petit. It is surrounded by hotels, but is blessed with a fine, sandy beach and gently sloping entrance to the sea. Both bays offer a family-friendly vibe, and various watersports are on offer. Behind the village lies Puerto de Portinatx, a charming, somewhat secluded harbour which also has a tiny sandy beach. Rocky landscapes and traditional fishermen’s huts add a touch of authentic flair. The cliffs also offer views of Portinatx’s mighty lighthouse. Portinatx’s bays are also home to a diving school, which is especially popular with underwater enthusiasts, and a small aqua park guaranteed to get children’s hearts beating a little faster. If you want to experience the unique northern shoreline from the sea, you can also book a boat trip.
