Property in Cala SaladaChilling, minus the lounge music
Just four kilometres from San Antonio on the way to Santa Inés, there are two bays which are equally popular with locals and residents: Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta. A handful of villas perch on the cliff coastline, yet the landscape looks unspoilt. In the bay itself, there is just one beach restaurant serving typical fish and paella dishes. For decades, its trump card has been the family-friendly atmosphere. Don’t expect chillout vibes or lounge music; there’s a less trendy, more homely feel here.
A unique atmosphere
The rocky coastline, traditional fishermen’s huts, and azure waters simply ooze romance. The perfect place to soak up this ambience is Cala Saladeta, a miniature bay accessible via a narrow hiking trail or over the cliffs on the beach. If you make the effort to get there, the crystal clear waters will reward you with a truly relaxing experience. Due to this bay’s great popularity, it can get very busy in high season. For this reason, the authorities have begun to restrict vehicle access. Once the car park next to the bay is full, you will have to park in the Can Coix car park and take a bus the rest of the way. You can also reach the bay by taking a catamaran from the port of San Antonio.
