légalités & lifestyle
There are many reasons for people from all over the world to want to come and live in Ibiza, from the food and climate to the easy lifestyle and relentless schedule of fiestas. Before moving to the island however, you should consider a few things. Today we want to show you the benefits of living in Ibiza.
With mostly sunny days and a mild winter, Ibiza is the ideal location to relocate. The good weather stretches from March to November, even though, sometimes in December you can still enjoy some days of warm sunshine on the beach. Summer tends to be very hot and winter very mild. January and February are usually the coldest months, but temperatures rarely drop below 10 degrees.
Considering that Ibiza is actually a small island, you can drive from the furthest north to the furthest south in only an hour. The island boasts many beautiful sandy beaches, small bays, secluded coves and rocky cliffs with access to the sea. Even if during summer, when most of the renowned beaches are besieged by tourists, there are still a few unknown spots where locals and visitors can enjoy some peace and quiet.
Ibiza is in the middle of a food revolution, many restaurants are leading the way in reinventing traditional Ibicencan cuisine using local, sustainable ingredients. The Island’s gastronomy is rich in flavour, with plenty of fresh fish & local produce. The wide culinary offer of Ibiza truly offers something for every taste – from five star dining experiences to authentic Spanish restaurants, the choices are endless.
Not only does Ibiza offer beautiful turquoise sea and sandy beaches, the island also provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy outdoor activities. Imagine biking, hiking, horse riding whilst taking in the breathtaking views and discovering the most authentic side of the island.
The quality of life is undeniably better! There is a good balance between work and family life, of course this is dependent on the type of job you do – if you work in the tourist sector you might get very busy in summer and then more quiet in winter time, whilst if you work in any other sector your working time would be more or less the same. Overall people here enjoy life more, might be the good weather or the laid back attitude but if you aim to have a good work-family balance, this is the place to be.
Crime on the island is very low, with it being pretty safe for women and kids to go out at night. There are few house break-ins and these tend to happen more often in summer, when the island gets busier – but overall there are no major incidents and in some part of the island, people are even still living without locking their doors every-time they leave the house.
