Most have whirlpool hot tubs and balconies overlooking the historic walls of Dalt Vila in the distance, but all have private bathrooms and access to free WiFi. Be sure to also make time to visit Open Spa, the hotel’s excellent spa that’s home to one of the island’s best hydrotherapy and hydro-massage circuits.

It’s fair to say that Ushuaïa Ibiza is now so famous that’s it become synonymous with the island. Both a star hotel and a club destination, this property in Playa d’en Bossa (around a 10-minute drive from Ibiza Town), Ibiza’s party capital, is designed for those who favour their sun-drenched days served with a side of clubbing. With an always buzzing atmosphere and parties held seven days of the week during the peak summer months (featuring artists like David Guetta, Martin Garrix and Hardwell), admittedly not much time is spent in the sleek and modern rooms or watching the flat-screen TVs, nevertheless some have balconies overlooking the stage and others have their own private hot tubs. Either way, you’re guaranteed to get the full superstar experience. Act early to make sure there are available rooms!

Located between the beautiful coves of Cala Conta and Cala Codolar (around a 25-minute drive from San Antonio and 45 minutes from Ibiza Airport), Seven Pines Resort Ibiza is an all-suite luxury resort that can lay claim to some of the very best views, food and spa facilities on the island.

Air conditioned rooms are like individual villas, with separate spaces to cook, dine and sleep in, but it’s the communal areas that are really something to shout about. Spend the day relaxing at the stunning outdoor infinity pool, with the majestic rock of Es Vedrà reaching skywards in the distance, indulge in a Pure Seven Spa session for blissful relaxation, and dine at The View, where incredible gastronomy is matched by sparkling sea vistas.

Tucked away in the Ibizan countryside, Ca Na Xica is the antithesis to the island’s clubbing reputation. A haven nestled among acres of lush countryside and towering cacti, it’s where people come to switch off from the busy rituals of daily life (there’s free WiFi but we’d recommend leaving the devices at home).

A stylish saltwater swimming pool guides guests inwards, where they’re met with pared back rooms and glass-fronted private bathrooms that look out towards the silvery-leaved olive trees. Be sure to have supper at Salvia, where fresh, local produce is served daily and the Josper oven cooks meat and fish to perfection.

Last but by no means least is Los Enamorados, a Boutique Hotel situated in Portinatx. Home to just nine individually decorated rooms, each with their own personality and sea views, this luxury hotel operates to its own beat.

You won’t hear dance music on its restaurant terrace, for example, rather it’s a mixture of funk, soul and whatever else takes their fancy on the day. There’s no outdoor pool, but borrow a kayak or snorkel and go on a sea-faring adventure instead, then settle down at the restaurant for sunset cocktails and a long, leisurely dinner.

This is the kind of off-the-beaten track, salt-licked bliss that all Ibiza experiences should feel like.
